Monica Ballard, supervised psychologist, received her Masters
degree in Clinical Psychology from Marshall University Graduate College
in 2005 and her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Concord College in
1995. Monica is on the West Virginia Supreme Court's list of Certified
Mediators. She has been a licensed social worker for over 12 years and
is certified as a Development Specialist and a Social Worker through the
West Virginia Birth to Three Early Intervention system. She has been
trained as a domestic violence advocate and has been trained in
substance abuse issues. She has also completed the Finding Words WV
training of forensic interviewing for children sponsored by the WV
Prosecuting Attorney's Institute.
Monica has worked with a wide range of clients. She was formerly
employed as a Child Protective Services Supervisor and she currently
completes forensic interviews for children who have been physically and
sexually abused. She also provides psychological evaluations and
substance abuse assessments for parents for the West Virginia Department
of Health and Human Resources. Additionally, she completes disability
evaluations. She is a member of the Boone County Drug Court team and she
provides therapy and group therapy services to the Boone Logan Regional
Day Report Center. She completed an internship at Donald R. Kuhn
Juvenile Detention Center where she completed intakes, assessments,
evaluations, and conducted individual and group therapy sessions.
